Problems customizing an existing theme (2 posts)

So I've been dragged into help my sister with her senior project (print design major). She needs a website/blog so I got involved as she knows nothing about computers (except things like photoshop, illustrator, and she knows more about printers, ink, and paper than any human being should be allowed) and I have programming experience (just not web programming experience...) so I was somewhat drafted by the family to do this.
I got the server all set up and wordpress working (http://www.thepursuit.info/blog). Now she needs a custom theme and well a week just isn't long enough for me to learn a whole new API in a programming language I have near zip experience with (I like C and Objective-C). So we decided to find a free blog theme and basically replace the images with our own. Unfortunately this is not going so well. While the images are of the same dimensions, type, name, and have the same permissions of the originals they won't show up. Now when I try the original theme (not the one with the changed out images) it works.

The theme we are using can be found here: http://themes.wordpress.net/columns/2-columns/1491/freestyle-10/

The images we are using to replace the originals can be found here: http://www.thepursuit.info/blog/wp-content/themes/thepursuit/img
    The image names:
    bg.jpg
    bullet.gif
    feed.png
    footer.gif
    full.jpg
    middle.jpg
    star1.jpg
    star2.jpg
    title.jpg

I can't figure out what we're doing wrong and would appreciate help.

Your blog isn't linking to your style sheet.
Is there a space in the url between the and pursuit that doesn't belong there?
