Seems this plugin is now under very active development and no sort of release cycle; Thus I’ve been updating this plugin on an almost daily basis, more bugs than fixes it seems.

articles sent via email are auto-publishing even though this option is not set in the options.

Plugin has never been able to filter out my email footer correctly either.

Yes, there are a large number of outstanding issues in Postie, so rather than waiting months for each release I am putting them out as I fix things. WordPress unfortunately doesn’t have any mechanism for beta releases.

I do appreciate the bug reports although I’d appreciate a separate forum post for each problem so than can be tracked.

You could release the plugin via your website for beta testing, i for one would be willing to help in this area and i’m sure many of the other users would help, once satisfied the version is stable then release to WordPress.

I appreciate the efforts in improving the plugin and it has always been a favourite and part of my standard build for clients, but the number of updates makes me think I should not use this plugin as clearly there are a number of bugs…

    cheers

Thanks for the considered response. I have thought about this, but was concerned about low the number of beta sites. I will definitely do this when I start the Postie 2.0 project.

The large majority of bugs are edge cases for specific email clients. Although I will admit to introducing a couple myself. The reason there are a large number of updates is that there is a large number of people who want to use the plugin but haven’t been able to. I just want to get them up and running.
