   Hi I am having a problem with wordpress removing my <p> tags in the editor, even if I put them in directly in the html code, once I save they are gone, how can i fix this? thanks

   To clarify, I am actually seeing two issues here.

   1. If I put empty <p> tags or line breaks in my editor for presentation purposes these get automatically removed.

   2. Let's say I open a new page and start typing in the visual editor, pressing the return key for new paragraphs etc. When I switch to the code view I dont see any markup at all. This only applies to p tags and br tags, I can see all other markup such as bold and italics.

   I'm currently getting this same problem. It's probably called a feature, but sometimes, I want more whitespace.

   Having the same issue. I am using WordPress 2.8.4.

   I have the same problem in 2.8.5. It will remove my <p> tags in both the html and visual editors.
