Problem with Video Light Box in IE8 (3 posts)

I posted a YouTube video on the home page of my site at http://www.knightscope.com using a Light Box. It works fine in Safari and Firefox, but the image used to link to the video appears as a vertical line (like the image was squished from left to right) in IE8. It looks like an error on the page and visitors do not know to click the link to see the video.

Here is the code I used:

    <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jGoVzgp7Ts"><img style="width: 853px; height: auto; float: left; margin-right: 20px;" src="http://knightscope.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/K5-Play-Button1.jpg" alt="" /></a>

Please help me resolve this issue. Thanks!

Just try only the URL, like this if you want to insert video only:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds

Also check if the link posted above works in IE8 if you switch to Twenty Twelve theme.

Thank you for the suggestion. For numerous reasons, however, I do not want to just embed the video. I want to use a light box to view the video.
