Hi there,
I've installed WP 3.4.2. The site http://colourplaysharees.com is running in maintenance mode for now.
The problem is I can't upload/update any themes or plugins using dashboard. The uploading page shows "Unpacking the package…" but never ends. No problem with media uploading.
The strange thing is I can make these things quite successfully using FTP.
Surprisingly permalink setting page is showing blank that I can't change permalink to any page or post. No .htaccess file is found on site root.
Please help me if anybody can understand my problems.

That sounds like a server issue. can you install themes & plugins manually?

yes, I can install themes and plugins manually using FTP.
In that case, it seems to be a server issue. Probably php hasn't been compiled with the zip module. You need to contact your hosts about this.
With regard to the blank permalinks page, have you checked the site's error logs for clues?

Ok, but how could I find the error log?
Your hosts should be able to help you with that.
