problem with upload a picture

    hi,

    i search problem in this forum but cannot find anything…

    in function “Write Post” i have option Upload file…when select picture and select upload script write me message:
    Unable to create directory /mounted-storage/home8/sub004/sc15646-ERAW/public_html/blog/wp-content/uploads/2006/01. Is /mounted-storage/home8/sub004/sc15646-ERAW/public_html/blog/wp-content/uploads/2006 writable?

    on files wp-content, uploads i have 777 permissons…

    have anybody problems?

    WP derives the permissions for the subdirectories from wp-content. Is it possible that the directory “2006” is not set to 777? Maybe you created it (automatically by uploading the first file in January) before you chmod’ed wp-content?!?

    I still think it’s a bad idea to set permissions to 777 even though it seems to be the only way for people with PHP as Apache module. At least it should be possible to move the “uploads” folder out of your www-root.
