   I tried the automatic upgrade, but it stalled with even my admin area left in maintenance mode. I deleted the hidden file called .maintenance but the admin panel and blog are coming up blank.

   There's a hidden file called .maintenance in the site root which I can't rename, delete, or download. I suspect that's the file that's preventing me from accessing the admin panel.

   Any ideas?

   Oh well, it's fixed. I ftp'd the upgrade and the site started working again. I think the hidden file was a red herring.
