Problem with theme and 3.7.1 (6 posts)

I have "Clear" theme (Invent Group, v1.3) and since the the WP upgrade I've lost control of widgets and media import. The buttons don't work.

Support: It looks like Invent Group has changed or disappeared, I'm not sure. Google leads me to dead ends. A closed wp-forum on the same issue 11 months ago posted a contact email address: support@invent-themes.com, it's a dead end also. So any hopes of getting patch/fix from the developer seems impossible, unless someone knows an "in".

I'm not sure what the issue is specifically, but I'd like to know what I can do to mend this problem with this theme and WP.

    Any suggestions???

You'll probably need to either hire someone to look at the theme or find another theme.

If it's no longer supported or maintained, I'd find another theme - so that you don't continue to have this kind of issue.

I can do that, I't might help though knowing where to look for the issue. A WordPress software developer, someone who worked on the latest version, may know where this conflict is likely located and what's going on, to make a theme blow out in this specific area.

True - which is why I suggested that you could hire someone. More specifically, you could start with:

Sounds good, yet another theme it is.

My General Grumble: The message seems to be, roll the dice, premium themes (any themes) cannot be expected to last 6 months to a year before WP changes its programing, making them obsolete. No matter how well crafted (using best practices) at the time.

Yeah, that's really up to the theme developer to keep it compatible with WP. Unfortunately, not all of them do :(.
