I've been pulling my hair out with this for the last 3 days. The content box for my date is way too big and it pushes the content box for my post to the bottom. How can I fix that??? Here's my site: http://sites.neeweb.com/smarties

Look in your wp-comments.php file for this line:
    <textarea name="comment" id="comment" cols="70" rows="4" tabindex="4"></textarea>

Change the col="70" to a value that works better for your site design.

That didn't fix it. The problem is not with the comments form but with the little box that contains the date. For some unknown reason, I can't put at a reasonable size.

You have an extra div IDed "main" below your header. Remove that. I don't think it will do any difference (then again, who knows...) but it doesn't hurt to try and get your page to validate in the process :D

Your frame and redirect is making it extremely difficult to get to the problem.
Stopping all that would be helpful.

Removing float: left; from the #menu {} made the date box normal but the content will start only after the menu. That's a new problem to solve :)
