Problem with RSS2: /feed/ address doesn't work, but /wordpress/wp-rss2.php does (5 posts)

This is rather odd, at least to me. For the past week I've been trying to figure out why, when someone subscribes to my RSS2.0 feed through:

    http://clioweb.org/feed/

it only displays 1 post, while subscribing to the feed through:

    http://clioweb.org/wordpress/wp-rss2.php

gives you the full 10 posts. Oddly (or maybe not, what do I know?), my Atom feed from the /feed/ address shows the full 10 posts. My blog address and wordpress address are different (wordpress is in a "wordpress" directory). My syndication setting in Reading Options is set to 10 posts and full text. I've search the forum and codex with no luck, but if someone's already posted about, and solved, this problem I'd appreciate someone sending me the links. Thanks in advance!

  2. Very strange. Looks like the rewrite rules for /feed/ are not working correctly.

It would be interesting to see the relavent lines from the WordPress generated .htaccess file if you could paste them here.

They may help debug the problem

Here's my entire .htaccess file as a simple txt file:

    http://clioweb.org/htaccess.txt

  4. Ok looking at your .htaccess file you have a set of extra rules ontop of the WordPress generated ones.

I'm not sure why you need these extra ones and one of them is what is causing the problem. This is the offending rule:

    RewriteRule ^feed/?([_0-9a-z-]+)?/?$ /wordpress/wp-feed.php?feed=$1 [QSA]

That causes http://clioweb.org/feed/ to be rewriten to http://clioweb/wordpress/wp-feed.php

I would sugest reviewing why you have the extra rewrite rules outside of the WordPress block and removing any of them that are unnecessary.

The WordPress generated ones are between the comments like so:
    # BEGIN WordPress
    ...
    # END WordPress

Sorry for the late response. It was a simple as deleting those old rewrite rules...perhaps they were there from older versions of WP? I dunno, but it works fine, thanks!
