  • Same problem here… the plugin pick up only the 4 most recently posted articles.

don’t know if there is anything we can do about it.

Same here. I didn’t notice this thread, so I created one too. But I see only most recent ones (4 or 5 posts) as “related” but they are not related at all…
    Any help appreciate…

@info@moimessouliers.org — We’re seeing a variety of different recommendations for each of your posts. However, we do optimize plugin load so that our algorithm serves up content right away (usually from backfill or more recent articles – since we’ve seen that these perform better in terms of CTR), then starts the calculation to retrieve the related content for this page. Once this calculation is done it will then be used when a second user visits (or the same user refreshes) the page.

@claudioflo — Can you let us know which site you use our plugin on so we can take a look?

@canofgg — Can you also let us know the URL for your site?

    Really appreciate your help!!

@canofgg — We see Related Content up and running with a variety of recommendations for Related Content.

Looks like everything is working correctly but this is due to how our algorithm serves up related content for first time visitors as explained above. Let us know if we can assist further.

    Thanks, Katrina!
So I guess as the time passes, the algorithm picks up more related posts from some months ago (not just from this week or two). Correct?
I’ll wait and see if it improves.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

I am also finding that the “related” posts are completely random.

Are you using tags to correlate the articles? I am not sure how to make it pick the right related content and leave out the unrelated.

I’m having the same issues. The plugin only selects among the most recent posts and ignores related content that’s a much better fit. Is there anything that can be done about this? my site is http://www.neversaydiebeauty.com Thanks!

@thenewbreed @acohen5276 — We actually don’t use tags to determine related content. Instead we use an algorithm that takes your post’s title and description, plus context, to match related posts. We have found that a few of our users would like us to start using tags/categories to determine related content so we are working to see what we can do about offering this feature in a future build of our plugin.

You can also try medium or high relevancy which makes our algorithm for post matching much more strict. However, if your site isn’t very large then medium/high relevancy might cause the plugin to show less related recs than desired (or none at all) if a certain post doesn’t have many corresponding similar posts.
