   Hi,

   I have a problem with the permalinks. I have changed the permalink structure (Options > Permalink) from 'Default' to 'Date and name based' (http://www.domain.com/2006/05/28/sample-post/).

   When I click on the title of a single post, the homepage comes up instead of the single post.

   What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

   I use WordPress 2.0.2. Can anyone please help me?

   When you changed your permalink settings, did you save the settings and did it say permalinks updated? Does using the old permalinks still work? Does typing the new permalink into the browser address bar work? Hover your mouse over the post title, what is the actual URL that it links to?

   Perhaps giving a link to the site will help others spot the source of the problem. Otherwise you'd really have to be more specific.

   Thanks for your reply.

   Yes, it said 'Permalink structure updated'. The old permalink still works.

   The new permalink also doesn't work when I type it into my browser, but I do see the date-and-name-based permalink when I hover my mouse over the post title.

   When I click on the post title I return to my homepage.

   I hope you can help me.

   In particular, you'll probably want to contact your host and confirm that they not only have mod_rewrite enabled, but also have AllowOverride on for you.
