Problem with net2ftp

Hi. I am having problem in installing the wordpress to my root directory with net2ftp. I am getting “/wordpress” with my domain name and i want to remove it. So the default directory is “/public_html“. So i uploaded it to “root/public_html/wordpress“. So can you help me. Please don’t redirect to me codex as i am noob and i didn’t understand a thing. So pls give step by step instructions. Also please tell me the path in which i have to upload it. Thanks.
