• Trying to configure Mail 2. The autoreply email is sent but the “From” data is not working properly in Gmail. I’ve read through the posts here and tried the solutions to no avail.

I’m trying to configure the autoreply email so that my name and email address appear and allow the user to respond to the autoreply email.

Using the default parameters: [your-name] <[your-email]>

the autoreply returns the users name and their email address. However this only allows them to respond to themselves.

If I try to customize this as: My Name <[name@mydomain.com]>

in Gmail, the From says “unknown sender” and there is no email address to reply to. If the user enters a non-gmail email address, it works fine, the name and reply to email address show up fine and the user can reply to me.

Then I tried changing the From in Mail 2 to simply: <name@mydomain.com>

The autoreply email sends, but in the “From” area it says: <name@mydomain.com

Then if the user tries to reply to that email it creates two messages, one to name@mydomain.com and one to <name@mydomain.com

Not sure if this is a limitation of Gmail or a bug in the plugin?

in Gmail, the From says “unknown sender” and there is no email address to reply to.

Because it’s a wrong format. Change it to
    My Name <name@mydomain.com>
    or
    name@mydomain.com
