Problem with link on latest entries

On my client’s website, I have set a static front page, and added a “Latest News” link on the right sidebar which goes to the first page of the latest posts (the page that would be the front page if I’d not set a different page). The first post page has a “previous entries” link which works fine. But the “next entries” link on subsequent post pages goes to the static front page and not the first post page.

What’s the code to put so that the “next entries” link goes to the right page?
