Hi all,
Been trying to give a new site of mine it's own directory using a pre-existing subdirectory install, wanting to change it from http://www.mydomain.com/wordpress to http://www.mydomain.com.
I've followed these instructions: http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory and have been able to compare index.php and htaccess files (and setup in general) with another site. They're both complete matches.
In General the WordPress Address is http://www.mydomain.com/wordpress and the Site Address is http://www.mydomain.com.
Permalinks use a Custom Structure - /%post_id%/%postname%/
And I use the Thesis Theme. Think that would be all the tech specs(?)
Anywho, the problem is this: When trying to access http://www.mydomain.com I get an error, however I can access the one post and 7 pages published (i.e. http://www.mydomain.com/1/welcome (post) and http://www.mydomain.com/about).
As I'm technically challenged this has left me puzzled and I hope you can help. Please be very specific in your "what to do"-guide - I'm serious when I say I'm technically challenged :-)
Thanks a bunch in advance,
Peter
