Hi,
I believe the culprit is your “Featured on” widget, try removing it to see if the issue goes away.
hat didn’t work. I removed it but it was just a text widget. any other ideas? I could really use the help

I assumed it’s the problem because it contains unvalid html.
But now that I check, what exactly is the problem? The lack of comments submission area below your post?
If so, are you sure:
1.) “Allow people to post comments on new articles ” is checked under Settings – Discussion
2.) “Allow comments.” is checked on your post edit screen for that post.
both of those are set to do that. #2 I assume is at the top of the screen under “screen options” and the “comments” box should be checked, which it is.

Yes, but once you check “comments” box at the top, scroll down below editor until you see separate box for setting comments to on/off, looks like this:

It happened again! The last time, it righted itself but I really need my comments to work consistently. I am on Ever After theme. Is there a plug-in I could use for comments if the theme is going to keep shutting this off? And if it’s not the theme, then what has changed to make this an issue?? I haven’t touched the code or the settings.
