   Hiya, I'm not sure whether this may be a bug of 2.5.1 or perhaps just and error of my theme. Occasionally when writing and publishing a post, the date will not be displayed, whereas in other posts it will.
   This missing date occurs at random and the only way to fix and affected post, is fiddle about changing the date till it works (which usually means putting the date back one month).

   As I said it's quite random and may affect a post dated 2/1/08, whereas not affected posts dated 1/1/08 and the 3/1/08.

   I've only discovered this problem since updating to 2.5.1 and I don't use any widgets etc. The only cause I can think of is either the update or the fact I've got permalinks structured by ".../2008/07/sample-post/"

   AHA!

   It seems like it might be a bug. Dates disappear consistently for me if there are two posts on the same day in an archive view.

   Now, where to submit a bug report?

   thats not a bug.

   there are two template tags that can be used to display the date. one only shows the date once if there are multiple posts on one day. the other will show the date on all posts.

   http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/the_time == shows the date on every post.

   http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/the_date == shows it once

   --

   if you need to change the way yours is being displayed, you need to edit your theme files.
