[resolved] Problem with DataTables and Gravity Forms (2 posts)

    Hi there!

I'm loving the new TablePress version of the plugin and I'm slowly using it to replace WP Table Reloaded on my sites.

But on one of them I've run into an issue with TablePress conflicting with Gravity Forms. When I have tables that have the DataTables scripts enabled on the same page where a Gravity form appears (and the form has conditional logic), the form simply disappears. Here's what I've found out so far:

On the Gravity Help site there's this FAQ question:

    http://www.gravityhelp.com/question/why-is-there-a-style-attribute-of-displaynone-being-added-my-form-isnt-showing-up/

It explains why a form might not display if there are problems with the scripts and the theme doesn't user wp_footer() for example. That is not the case for me as the theme I use does and the same form on other pages of the same site where there are no tables from TablePress displays correctly.

I never ran into this issue with WP Table Reloaded as, for one thing, there was a global settings to turn off the use of any JavaScript libraries like DataTables and on the particular install I'm having the issue with, I had that set to not use JavaScript in any table. In Table Press, that global setting seems to be gone and the individual tables had DataTables turned on. When a table with DataTables on appears in a page with a Gravity Form using conditional login (mine does), then the form doesn't display. If I turn DataTables off, the form appears again.

The issue does not seem to be present in the latest version of WP-Table Reloaded (or any older version that I've used in the last 2 years or so).

    Thanks!

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Very likely, this is the result of a JavaScript conflict then.

If you post the link to the page where this is broken, I'll gladly take a look and try to find out what's wrong.

The issue does not happen in WP-Table Reloaded, as that uses an old version of the DataTables JS library, in which this error happened, but "silently".

    Regards,
    Tobias
