[resolved] problem with css in child theme (4 posts)

    I've been playing around with changing the colors of this site. I have a child theme installed, and i'm changing the colors via a .css file in the child theme.

    http://testing.stevelescure.net/wordpress/

    I've had good luck changing almost all the colors - except one.
    the gray area at the top right where it says "1 comment on whole page" / "1 comment on paragraph 1" etc...

    I used Inspect Element and find that the following CSS SEEMS to control this area. if i change the background-color to #fff in Inspect Element, the area changes.

    .comments_container > h3
    {
    margin: 0;
    font-size: 80%;
    font-weight: bold;
    color: #222;
    background-color: #BDBDBD;
    }
    so far so good. So next i cut and paste this css into my child theme css.

    .comments_container > h3
    {
    margin: 0;
    font-size: 80%;
    font-weight: bold;
    color: #222;
    background-color: #fff;
    }

    Nothing... I'm new to this, so i might be doing something fundamentally wrong. the same basic procedure seemed to work for the other elements....

    any ideas?

    thanks

    No way to help with CSS without seeing the actual site - which is not accessible.

    I see it now - looks like that theme has lots of CSS for various size devices - have you asked the developer of the theme about this?

    thanks. Yea, unfortunately for me the theme is very complicated. Haven't tried to contact the developer about this yet. i thought maybe i was missing something obvious, so i tried here first. Maybe that's not the case. i'll try that....
