Hi guys i’m trying to move my wordpress site from one host account to another one with a new domain that has already been set up. After copying the root folder to the new host location i imported the database and changed wp-config with the new database info. I then changed the site URL in the database to reflect the new domain adress, and replaced all the old links in the posts table with a SQL querry. As a result the copied site is fully functional on the new domain and everything works for visitors. However when i try to login to the wordpress admin menu it looks like this:

    http://postimg.org/image/vyqcbs9up/

clearly something is wrong but i cant figure out how to fix this, its exactly the same site with the same database but this doesnt happen when i log in to the old site

Yes I tried everything that’s in there… including the permalinks. pls advise.

Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the root wp-config.php & .htaccess files and the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Thanks esmi i will try that. While browsing in my FTP client, i noticed that all wordpress files except those in the content folder have all the spaces and enters removed (basicly one long string of text). Might that have something to do with my problem? When i open these files with microsoft word the format looks fine and all the code is paragraphed as it should be.

Might that have something to do with my problem?

    Almost certainly!

Okay but can you then explain why the old site has this issue, yet it’s wordpress admin login works fine? Just so i understand this for any future problems

I’m sorry but I have no idea. No WordPress core file names should ever be changed.

More problems… i downloaded a fresh install but it’s the same thing again. All code is stringed without paragraphs, really weird! What could be changing these files?

What are you opening the files in?

Notepad. When i open them with MS Word(pad) they look fine so im guessing windows is imposing some kind of format onto them?

Just wanted to add, i tried this with another fresh wp install on a different PC downstairs and the same thing happened.

    Try opening wp-config.php in NotePad.

    Tried that, same thing 🙁

I did however manage to get wp-config.php working by copying the contents from wordpad and saving them in notepad, but all the other files are still messed up and i cant convert them all manually, its way too many files

Ok I found the fix: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/wp-admin-broken-displays-plain-html-css-java-not-loading

Still dont understand what happened and why, but at least my admin area is fully functional again.
