Hello,
I’m not sure what you mean by
So how can you erase just the search box where you type words in?
You can configure the search form in Settings / Formatting / Search Form
Does it help ?
Hi FranceImage,
thanks for your answer. Well, it doesn’t work with the Settings, I just want do deactivate the textfield, but not the Attributes or Dates.
In the Settings I just can deactivate the whole searchbar.
I can’t reproduce the problem
However somebody has started similar thread here http://wordpress.org/support/topic/search-form-options-bug
Does it look like your problem ?
okay, last try :): I just want to search with attributes such as Country, City…., I don’t want the user to fill something out.
In the Settings you just can activate or deactivate the whole search bar.
In the link there is a different problem.
Thanks for your patience, Thowe
Sorry I’m lost … are we talking about the same plugin Events Manager ?
In the Settings you just can activate or deactivate the whole search bar.
In my admin console, I have a menu item called ‘Events’
This menu item has a sub menu item called ‘Settings’
When I click on ‘Settings’, I can see 5 tabs (General,Pages,Formatting,Bookings,Emails)
When I click on ‘Formatting’ I see a few sections (Events,Search Form, etc..)
When I click on ‘Search Form’, I can see a bunch of options for the search form.
However, I can’t see anything related to a search bar
Anyway, be patient until Monday for a better answer (when the official support team is back)
Cheers
Sorry franceimage,
maybe its a language problem, because the whole plugin is translated into german. so I don’t know the exact words for it in english.
But you are right. When you click on search form there are a bunch of options. The second option is called, show search form (yes or no).
So, when I klick no, the whole search form will be deactivated on the page. That’s my problem.
I need the search form, but without the normal search dialog, where you type in words to search vor. I just want the attributes.
But, maybe on monday there comes help 🙂 Sorry for the whole mess.
Thowe
Hi Thowe,
The language thing explains a lot 🙂 (the 2nd option enables/disables the search input field)
As I can’t reproduce the problem, can you do following things:
– are you using the last level of the plugin 5.4.3 ?
– can you disable all plugins except events manager one at a time and check your event search form ?
– can you switch to theme twentytwelve and check your event search form ?
This will help the team
Cheers
Hi FranceImage,
I now got it. Some other plugin, that I activate crashed somehow the option-table for events manager. After deactivating it, everything works good now. Thanks a lot, Thowe
