    Ver 2.5x said post code would no longer be trashed.
    I am SO FED UP with wp changing <i> to &lt ;em&gt ; and <b> to &lt ;strong&gt ;, thereby killing my intent. Who ever programmed the editor should go back to HTML school. [ em strong are not same as italic bold ]

    I repair code, preview is good, save and log out. Often next visit to blog shows WRONG CODE REINSERTED.

    &lt ; strong &gt ; makes all caps and &lt ; em &gt ; makes all bold, which fails grade school typography. So much for “web 2 advances”.

    Can posts have [code] or similar tag to avoid need for HTML character codes in description?
    [code]<i> <b> [/code]
    That answer is YES! But it did not work for post above.

    try disabling the visual editor mode.
