• I moved a site with a few Contact Form 7 forms to another host (to do a dry run of the WP 3.0.1 upgrade).

When I go to look at the forms in the administration panel (before doing any upgrades) they are missing some of the information from the old site. For instance the form definition is there, but the From, Subject and Message Body fields are all blank.

I can rebuild them from the other site, but since I’m planning to move the site back again, I’d appreciate a pointer as to where I’ve gone wrong.

The site was moved by copying the files and doing a phpMyAdmin dump of the database, editing the SQL file to change the hostname, and then importing that.

    Thanks.

Values of Mail fields are serialized, so if you edit exported SQL carelessly, you can break the data. Value of Form field is not serialized, so it’s safe to edit.

Thanks. I’ll try exporting/importing the table because I did make some edits Contact Form section.

Hmmm… A careful “export data from old site; drop table in new site; import data” didn’t fix the problem — but I copied and pasted from one PhpMyAdmin to another and things seem to be working now. Thanks.
