Problem moving Blog to a new host

    I did everything that this tutorial said: http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/move2/

    1. copied all site files and database
    2. uploaded site files, cleaning the cache
    3. created a DB on new host and imported the database
    4. changed settings on wp-config.php

    So far so good, but when I try to open the blog on the new server (without transfering the DNS, just looking a the temporary location like http://210.200.192.30/userid) I get a 404 error page.

    The blog theme is loading correctly, the header is there, the sidebar, even the “Recent Posts” are correct, but the content part is reporting a 404.

    If anyone could help I would be thankful.

    Until the DNS resolves, you won’t get a “true picture”. Just give it a few hours until its resolved, and then see if it’s still wonky.

    alright I changed the dns, lets hope things will be ok when it resolves

    Changed the DNS and it already is resolving on the new host for me.

    i just enabled mod rewrite on the .htaccess and problem is solved!
