[resolved] Problem from trying to move my blog! (4 posts)

    Hi,

I was in the user admin, and wanted to change the address of my blog from jebaloo.com/blog to just jebaloo.com. I used the second box (the one which said to use if you wanted to change address of blog) in the general tab (I think), and deleted the /blog off the end.
Then when I tried to load my blog at that new address it didn't work. Neither does it (or the admin panels) work at the old address.
To fix it I tried to move all of the files from the /blog/ folder on my site just into the main folder so that it should load when someone types jebaloo.com but it doesn't seem to have fixed it, so I've moved it all back.

All very disasterous and I had literally 'just' finished setting it up after weeks or work, and was ready to put it on my main page in place of my old site, when this happened!

    Help!

    Thank you so much!

    Jemima

Those fields are not there to be filled with "fantasy" URIs. If you want to move your blog - you read the instructions first.

    To fix what you got:

Thanks for your help. I'm a bit new at this so sorry for the amateur mistake. It's all very confusing that phpmyadmin stuff. I'll give it a go though.
    Thanks again,
    Jem

    Hi Moshu,

Thank you so much for your help, but it doesn't seem to have fixed my problem. I visited To fix what you got:
    http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/
that site and followed the instructions going through my site's ePanelX. I had to change the 'home' from http://www.jebaloo.com to http://www.jebaloo.com/blog, but the other setting was already at http://www.jebaloo.com/blog. I'm using 2.0.2, so don't have any cache's to delete.

I don't know if there's anything else you can suggest. I can't access my dashboard because that page has disappeared just like the rest of my site.

    Any suggestion? ;)
