It is impossible to download the latest.zip or tar.gz files on your download-section:
(http://wordpress.org/download/).
"file not found" is the comment! these links do not work:
http://wordpress.org/latest.zip
http://wordpress.org/latest.tar.gz
whats the problem?

I have just downloaded both without a problem.
Using FF on WinXP.

Those links are working just fine for me. Perhaps it was a temporary issue.

I use IE 6.0.

Just tried with IE 6.0.x here and I confirm that the download does not work.
Both downloads are working fine over here. Safari v1.2.4 and Firefox v1.0 on Mac v10.3.7.

Yes, but both Uwe and I have seen issues with IE 6 so any other reports of it working with other browsers is moot.

Testing IE here and it downloads fine. Perhaps it's a download manager or something?

IE is working fine here at home. I suspect that my previous IE issue had something to do with work blocking certain files from being downloaded.

My computer at work runs NT, so SP2 is not a factor. I'm running XP Pro SP2 here at home, and I can d/l the files.

Now I installed all critical updates and service-packs for my ME, but it did'nt help.
Its funny, all other downsload (i.e. sourceforge.net) are working well! So I was able to download WordPress V 1.2.1!!
But the new Version 1.2.2 is only here available. So I think it's not only a browserproblem? perhaps downloading from a foreign SSL-site.
Anyone any idea?
