   I'm having trouble creating and using categories. Sometimes the categories don't show up when I try to create them. I enter the category name, hit Add, and nothing happens. Sometimes the category gets created OK, but I can't check the box when I make a post. The category doesn't show up in the category list in the home page either.

   Pages seem to be working fine.

   I've installed and used WordPress dozens of times before, and never had this problem.

   Any ideas?

   I think I fixed the problem, by turning off Javascript in Firefox. Others have fixed similar problems the same way. I don't know what's causing this though.

   Is there an actual answer to the original question, I am not able to add catagories too. I have a new installation that I also upgraded to 2.3.1 - I can't add catagories or posts.

   I was having the same problem adding categories. I was using Firefox as my browser.

   I tried adding categories using Internet Explorer - and the categories added fine.

   Bit of a pain but at least when using IE it works.

   Well I got the same problem, and turning of the Javascript works. But for me, with internet explorer 7 didn't work.
