Problem creating Facebook App

    Hi. I installed SFC 1.5, but I’m having troubles creating the related facebook application. The guides I found online seems related to an older Facebook app panel.

    On FB I create a new app giving just the name and type “Other”. Then I got back to SFC settings, press Grant SFC Permissions and I get this in the popup:

    Given URL is not permitted by the application configuration.: One or more of the given URLs is not allowed by the App’s settings. It must match the Website URL or Canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the App’s domains.

    But if I got into App’s settings and I enter “App Domain” then FB complains the domain must match some of the other urls, which I don’t know where to set!

    Any hint?

    You put in the wrong Site URL on the Facebook app’s settings.

    Go to https://developers.facebook.com/apps/.

    Find your app, and click the “Edit Settings” link on it.

    Under the “Website with Facebook Login” area, correct the “Site URL” to be the actual URL of your real site. Note that capitalization matters, as does the lack or presence of “www”.

    Thing is, the Site URL here isn’t just a made up value, it’s something that actually does matter. This must match what is in the browser’s URL bar when you’re looking at your site.

    I am trying to make my facebook app in order to configure a plug in. however it wont accept my app domain, and wordpress wont accept my App ID

    kwillis123: And because you had this problem, you thought posting in somebody else’s 5 month old thread about a different problem entirely was a good idea?

    If you have issues, start your own thread about them. Don’t try to hijack other conversations for your needs.

    wow, didn’t expect animosity in a help forum..the title of this forum is about having problems with the facebook app and putting in your URL and my response from facebook was almost exactly the same as the one above. I also had the same issue that the guides provided are all for an older version of facebook. So mine isn’t a” different problem entirely”

    I think maybe you should chill out and just not reply if you don’t want to help.

    I don’t mind helping out, but replying to somebody else’s thread and thus causing the forum to send them emails about your problem kinda irks me a little bit.
