Our site is example.com and in the comments, we're trying to add a link to a different post on the same site: http://example.com/another-post but the link comes up: <a href="../../../../../another-post"> this is getting treated as a traversal because of all the dots and slashes and thus the comment is seen as dangerous and doesn't submit when you click submit, but rather gets blocked by FireHost.

@esmi, I added the link as absolute but the plugin TinyMCE turned it into a relative link. Any ideas?
Then that's a confirmed issue with the plugin. Does it have a dedicated forum that you can post this onto?

Try going to the plugin's page and posting from there to ensure that the topic is titled and tagged correctly. Or post via http://wordpress.org/tags/tinymcecomments?forum_id=10
