   I just did a successful installation of WP on my Mac using MAMP (MacOSX 10.4.8, PHP5, Apache 2.0, MySQL 5.0). Everything runs fine on the local Mac and also on a different Mac or Windows XP machine on the local subnet (using http://<IP address>:8888/wp)

   Now, when I try to access WP from the internet thru the Firewall, all I get is the information in the MySQL database, not the graphical layout, and only after a long delay.
   I use port mapping to route the requests to the server. This works fine for other services like Coppermine and phpBB, but not for WordPress! What should I change in the setup and where?

   No doubt you have found the answer to this, but if not its a simple trip to wordpress admin, log in go to options and change the wordpress URL and blog address URL to that of your servers IP e.g. http://192.176.0.45:8888/sitename. The only downside to doing it this way is if you use dhcp, becuase you will only be able to log on when that machine is allocated the specific IP you enetered in the options. To avoid this just make sure you fix the IP of your test server
