• Hi there,

    I’ve been trying to close the gap between the menu bar, the slide show box and the posts on Custom Community pro theme. And have no luck so far. I’ve tried some CSS suggested on the other posts with similar problems but that didn’t seemed to work. Any help and suggestions would be much appreciated. My brain hurts.
    Here is the link to my website.

  • Looking at the site page source code shows that there a lot of css loaded directly on to the page. There is no css file that is used. It appears that if you look at the source code on line 32 that there is a very large area of css there. The code that needs to change is there on line 32… which is really a big block of css.

    In there you can search and find this code:

    bottom: 0;margin: 0 0 -40px 0;}

    Changing that -40px there to say… -50 will move your menu bar for you.

    I cannot help further without actually having the files or access to the site because there is no specific css file that contains this css.

    I am sure if you have all the files for this site locally and search the site for that…

    bottom: 0;margin: 0 0 -40px 0;}

    css code you will probably find the correct file to update it.

    Hi Wayne,

    Thank you so much for your help. I’m using a child theme to another theme. Is that why you can’t see the code? If I swap the theme would you be able to see the CSS file?

    I can’t find the code on the main theme template yet. I’m really struggling.
    I did manage to find it on the source code but I don’t know how to edit the source code. How do I edit the source code from that end?

    Sorry I haven’t got any experience in CSS. Thank you for your patience!

    Many thanks

    Don’t think it is because you are using a child theme. You could try and switch the theme and I could check things for you again… but normally I would be working on a site for a customer and have access to the site and site files so that I could see where the correct place to edit would be.

    A bit handicapped here without having access to the site and files. Looks like you’re building a new WP Site. I so see that you are building it at http://www.ohmypaws.co.uk as well… as that is there your header image is coming from. Sorry but this is just something that is super easy with sites that I am helping to develop but without site access it is much more difficult.
