    Hi all,
I've been trying to get my site in the Google search results without succes. In the Webmaster Tools everything checked out but no listing. The site has been up for more than a year.

Today I noticed that when the privacy setting is on 'allow search engines to index this site' the source code includes the tag <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow" />, while if I select 'Ask search engines not to index this site.' the robots-tag in the source dissapears... Seems to me this is the wrong way around?

I will keep the second option selected for now and see if Google will index the site.

Any ideas on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Nils

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    Hi esmi,
    thanks for the tips.
I tried another theme and all returned to normal. I will keep these settings for a while and see if Google will index the site.

    Thanks!

    Nils
