You set a minimum priority, so a post can have a priority that is larger than 0.5, I don’t see anything wrong here? (btw priority for each post is calculated based on certain factors.)

Thank you for the quick response,

So the minimum priority will ensure that posts dont get a lower priority than what is set.

What does the default priority set?, and what factors are taken into account to set the priority of each post?.

    Thanks,
    Enelcaso

I am interested in Enelcaso’s follow up question as well. What factors are taken into account when setting the priority? Specifically, my siteindex for my multi-site installation shows the sites ranging in priority from 1 to .7, yet the sites themselves are all equally important to me.

OddOneOut, can we get a quick rundown of the logic?

    Thanks!

Default priority is set in admin area I believe.

What’s taken into account depends on the sitemaps being generated. For example for a post-type sitemap it would be a post’s last modified time and the number of comments on it. For a site sitemap it would be that site’s last updated time.

That makes perfect sense. Thanks for the follow up!
