“Previous Entries” leads to single post. How to change?

    Hi,

    How can I make “Previous Entries” show a list of posts w/excerpts only? It currently returns one, entire post.

    I tried changing _content to _excerpt in the archives.php and the archive.php files, but this did nothing.

    I am new to this.

    Previous Entries uses the same index.php file as your “main” page and the same number of posts shown as you set in the admin > options > Reading.

    Hi,

    My options>reading is set to 5 posts. My front page shows one whole post and five excerpts. This was designed by someone else, so I guess I’ll have to get some professional help figuring out how to change the Previous Entries display.

    Then you seemingly have a custom Loop (or Loops) in your index and in that case the prev/next won’t work properly + the Loop’s code over-rides your settings.
