[resolved] Previewing draft takes me to comment page of 1st post (8 posts)

I'm very new to WordPress, but I did successfully start up my blog with no problems. I was able to preview my first post in draft form over and over, but at that time the WP address and blog address were the same.

Now that it's live, the blog address is different from the WP address, meaning that I have all the WP stuff in its own folder. That seemed to be working until I tried to preview a new draft, and instead got sent to a blank post page that contained the comments from my first post.

I searched on here and found a few suggestions that having the addresses be different no longer works, but is that really the case? Or do I just not have something set up correctly? I'm comfortable going in and changing php documents as long as I know what I'm looking for.

Thanks for any help you can provide

did you reset the permalinks after moving index.php and .htaccess
    ?

The permalinks are currently set to link to the main blog address. In other words, I set them up so that they work correctly on published posts.

Is there something I need to do to change them so they'll work in preview mode as well? Currently the .htaccess files in both the root directory and the WP directory are exactly the same.

    Thank you.

you can only have the .htaccess in the root with index.php - not in the folder with the other files - delete that one

Okay, thanks, I deleted that .htaccess file. Still no joy though. I even tried deleting that draft and recreating it, but when I go to preview I'm still redirected to a blank post page with the comments from my first post.
