Preview New Themes

    I’ve been asked to update a companies blog. They like their current header, but all else can be udpated.. Figuer the easiest and best way is to apply new templates.

    Can you preview new templates primed with the blogs data? Then if you don’t like it, switch back to the original template wihout losing any data/custom themes you were running prior?

    Basically there are images/links loaded into the current header.php. If I switch templates, will I lose that information when I go back?

    Or looking at it another way, can I copy the header.php from the current blog and overlay the header.php in the templates I am previewing?

    Not within a theme unless you created a private page or kept the page in draft status.

    In theory, yes – although you might have to adjust the markup & css for the new theme.
