   I've recently had problems with software that uses a database where a user runs a search script that continuously searches for adult terms causing my hosting server to overload and temporarily shut down the site. Is there a way to limit time for searches on WordPress or does the software have a time constraint already built in? Thanks so much for any help!

   If it's one specific ipaddress causing the problems, block them in .htaccess.
