Hi everyone, I just got wordpress up and running…with a little bit of learning…as I am very new to server-side stuff.

I have read a lot of the Codex stuff but it seems it is based on single-user interface for individual blogs. Here is the dilema…

I am trying to build a ‘blog’ website. But after getting it running I am not sure wordpress is what I need…

If you ever look at some of the ‘big guys’ (Blogger.com, BlogSpot.com) they have a simple and effective website, with user-friendly blog creation platform.

This is the kind of simplicity I am looking for –

    1. A ‘home/login’ Page with a brief description and the option to login or register.
    2. The ‘user’ page with all the admin options required to create their own blog with the wordpress platform ie. select different themes and colors, publish it on my website with their own http://www.mywebsiteURL/TheirBlogTitle.com format, have the option to advertise on their blog, etc…
    3. View ‘other members blogs’ page, with a search function for title, category, keywords, etc…
    4. and a ‘forum’ for the usual things like the ole How-to get started.

The thing is…I want the site to be EASY TO USE. I don’t want people to have to download wordpress, all of the plug-ins, themes and so on…in order to use it.

    So.

My question is…will wordpress let me do this, or am I going to need more than this platform to do what I am trying to accomplish?

    Thanks

    Adam
