Support » Fixing WordPress » Pressing “Publish” Automatically Posts Instantaneously?

  • Hello.
When I publish an article, I was under the impression that if I set a “post time-stamp” for say, 16:00 hours, and pressed publish, that the article would publish at 16:00 hours.

I appears I am mistaken. Is it true that I can simply save an article with the time-stamp set and it will automatically publish at that time?

I was assuming that it is necessary to press the “Publish” button in order to have the article actually post, no matter the time.

    Please help me understand.
    Thank you.

  • Besides changing the time – did you check the “edit timestamp” box?

Yes, I did check the time-stamp box if I change it. I set it for 16:00 hours and checked the box, hit publish, and it posted immediately at 2pm in the afternoon.

Thanks for listening. I really like wordpress and want to do it right.
    Any help is appreciated.

Might want to make sure your time zone is set correctly in the options.
