preg_replace() [function.preg-replace]: Empty regular expression

    After upgrading from 2.3 to 2.3.2 I got errors all over the place like

    “Warning: preg_replace() [function.preg-replace]: Empty regular expression in […]/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 685”

    After searching here I opened up wp-includes/formatting.php to see what was on line 685. What I found was code referring to converting smilies.

    Solution: Logged in and deselected the ‘convert emoticons’ option found under ‘options/writing’.
