Power Outage Now Category Pages No Longer Display (2 posts)

I am using MAMP for a local install of WP on a mac. MAMP is running PHP 5.3.6

I am using a customized version of a theme called Sidewinder. I have many pages set up as category display pages - using a custom field to display posts in a specific category.

I experienced a full power outage without a gentle shut-down to the Mac running the MAMP & WP. Since the power outage these category display pages no longer display the thumbnails or post titles they used to. The navigation for the site remains, all styling for the site remains, and through dashboard post list I can edit and view posts. I can also navigate directly to posts to view them. Just can't get the category display pages to display the posts in them. ALSO - going to URL: localhost:8888/wordpress/category/example/ which used to display all posts in that example category now displays no posts. All posts seem to still have categories assigned in post list in dashboard.

I have re-loaded the entire database and all WP files. (Both of these were stored in a separate location within that same Mac that experienced power outage.) I have also re-installed MAMP.

Any idea what may have been damaged in the outage that would prevent category pages from displaying? And/or is something preventing my posts from having categories?

I think I've solved this. Though my Mac has a local install of WP via MAMP, the theme refers to URLs out on the internet for proper display. In power failure the internet connection was interrupted/eliminated. Once I connected to internet again the category display pages came back to life.
