My site, http://www.therecreationproject.org, stopped loading posts on the blog page and will only load (as a post) whatever page is set as the static home page. For now I set my blog to just use the archive template so that it does not look really messed up. Here is a link to a page that I have set up to load the blog so someone can see what it is doing. http://therecreationproject.org/587-2/
I have tried creating new templates to load my "page of posts" but it just does the same thing. I am really new to wordpress and using the loop so I can't really break it down. I do know that I have reset a lot of code to what it was when I first started my site and I can't make it work. Any insight would be much appreciated.
Have you tried:
- deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
- switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
- resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
thanks for the response. I have deactivated most of the plugins but not all, I will try that. Is it easy to switch themes to the default and then switch back? Let me give all of that a try. Your efforts to post on issues are much appreciated.
esmi- Just went through all of your suggestions and found that there are no issues with plugins but when I switched to the default theme I was able to load the blog correctly. So, I am wondering where to go from here now that we know its a theme based issue? Is there a way to re install the theme without losing all of my settings?
Thanks for the tips so far, much appreciated.
