    hi Kat,

Just as in the previous post where the person was having his posts coming in as pending.

I am having a similar problem. I created a user with admin privileges, but when the email comes in Post by Email keeps it as pending. I also have tried it from my superadmin email and it always posts as pending needs review.

It does not matter which email is used to receive the post, Post by Email posts it up as pending.

Hi! Are you sure that the email you're sending from matches your admin email (the one that's in the WP profile)? It will only match the "From" field, not "Reply to" or anything like that. (This can sometimes be configured wrong if you're using a mail client that has a "primary" mail address set up.)

Please edit one of the pending posts, click "Screen Options" in the upper right, and enable "Custom Fields". This will show what the plugin recorded as the original sending email. In the "Custom Fields" area, it should now show a field labeled "original_author". Does that email address match the one in your WP profile?

One more thing to check -- under the Users section of the admin dashboard, what Roles are your users assigned to?

Thank you for writing me back. I did what you asked and checked the emails.

The last one I did under my superadmin account and it matched my email but still posted it at pending. The other account the emails matched as well and that account is set at admin.

The email is being sent by gmail if that matters? if you'd like I can message you with login info so you can look.

Okay I figured it out. The problem was an assumption on my part. I thought the email of the account linked to Post By Email, that we send the message TO had to be a user with admin / posting priv. But what I found out was that it actually is the email of the person sending the message to the dedicated email account linked with Post By Email, have posting priv.
I hope this clarifies this for others who think llke me.

Oh, glad you figured it out! Yeah, it has to be the sending account. If it was the other way around, any random spammer could send stuff to any email that has posting privileges, and it would be posted. :) I will try to clarify that in the documentation.
