  • Hi,

    tried to find a thread about this problem, but can’t find it. Please refer me to the thread if it’s there!

    This is my problem:
    I’m using Apple’s mail to post to a categorie on my blog. Somewhere in the proces though the lines are broken and an alinea is not ‘filling out’.

    I know it’s not coming from the mail program – since when I copy past it to a text editor it doesn’t contain breaks of any kind.
    I’m using the deafult wp-mail.php file and the Wp1.5.2
    Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Have you got the mail format set as rich text or plain text? Try using the other one?

    I’ve found a similar thing: it’s simply that autop is putting BRs in for end-of-lines, which is just what it’s supposed to do. I was getting annoyed with it not wrapping properly in my post-excerpts, but I don’t really care what it does in the big page (wrapping at eighty-odd characters is good for reading anyway). The simple, stupid, but working solution I’ve come up with is to not display the linebreaks:

    .post-excerpt br {display:none}

    Silly ain’t it?

    @samwilson: why silly? Some of the most simple solutions seem to be the most brilliant ones 😉

    @iand: I use plain text – of course… 😉

    I am not sure if I want to use your solution samwilson… Maybe I can tweak it around so it does what I want (and that is not to take all my <br /> ‘s out of all my documents 😉

    Thanx for thinking along.

    Well – I guess I can best tweak it by making a template for the category it is used in and give it a different class name.
    If there is any other solution: I’d love to hear! 🙂

    I’m having this problem, too. The mail messages in question always include a URL and the <br /> is coming in the middle of the URL, along with a space. When this is interpreted by Feedburner (for a fully-automated podcast solution I’ve come up with), the link won’t work — although it looks and works fine in the blog.

    Any idea how to remove the line breaks generated in the wp-mail import process?

    Additional info: I tried Postie and although it removes the ‘
    ‘ code, it leaves two spaces in its place. This renders the link invalid.

    Help?
