    Hi,
I have a big problem with your great postlist plugin.

Since I have updated to WordPress 3.9 and W4 postlist 1.6.3 the postlists are not displayed on my site anymore.
Instead of a list of posts the following appears: “W4 Post List Error: List not found with id – 1 “
I have about 40 different postlists and without them my readers can not access to my content.

I would be very happy if you can help me to solve the problem.

    Best regards from Germany,
    Julian

  • This is terrible, I have the same problem.
I’ve imported the tables as provided in this plugin but it doesn’t work as it used to : no excerpt, no “Read more”.

I think that since tinymce has been modified, your plugin is not adapted.
Thanks for this great plugin and maintaining it.
    Sebastien

Actually, the problem comes from the sidebar.
In a page it works fine but in the sidebar, instead of having the excerpt for example, there is this … and for [more] there is this <

    Very strange.

Old plugin data should have been imported to new data format. However, there are exceptions. If your already created lists are not imported, you have to re-create it.

If your list already have been imported, then you will need to update the shortcode [postlist x] you have used. Because new data will use a new id.

Good thing is, some awesome updates are coming soon which will enable a lot more flexibility. You might have also noticed the new pagination feature.

    Hello,
    thank you for your answer.

    My lists are imported.

Where I can find the new ID of my lists?
Is it the number mentioned in the field “custom css”?
    –>”#w4pl-list-7420″ –> “7420”

I tried to get my a list with the short code [postlist 7420], but it only shows the following on the page “%%postlist%%”.
When I create a new list it works, but I have over 40 individual lists and for this reason it would be great if I only have to updated the id.

Thanks in advance for your answer.

    Regards,
    Julian

%%postlist%% – that’s a very old version of this plugin. Well, you will have to at-least update each list so new data structure can take place. You should find the id at the top of the list title once you save or update a list.

Unfortunately, only updating the lists doesn´t help. So I have to create new lists 🙁

For the usability it would be great if you integrate the ID in the overview table.

Thanks. Implemented the shortcode to copy – on the Overview page.

    Hi,
thank you for the quick implementation 🙂

    I have found another issue:
When I don´t fill out the field “Limits per Page” my postlist contains only 2 items. I think it would be logical if no entry means unlimited.

    Julian

After the update my W4 post list in the side bar disappeared with a red error message replacing it. I only had one list and can just recreate it but I can’t figure out how! All I need is a simple category list. Can you please clearly tell me what to use in the template field and the settings to click. I don’t see an example of a simple category list on your site or a shortcode that seems to be associated with that. I’d love to get this site fixed asap.

Category lists are gone. This plugin could help you to do that – jQuery Categories List Widget
