Support » Fixing WordPress » Posting to a static page

  • Hi,

I’ve got a question. I’m really new with wordpress, but after a long time ‘googleing’ I still couldn’t find an answer to my question.

I’ve created a website with pages as topic titles. Therefore I’ve got everything nicely separated. But if I want to post something to these pages it seems pretty much impossible. If I create a new post there is no option to put it on a static page. Is there a way? I don’t want to have it only on the homepage, or a static one on the homepage, but i want to post something on a specific page, is this possible? Am I overlooking a simple tick box?

Thanks in advance for the replies!

As far as I could read it, it is used on the page, to include a post. Isn’t it possible the other way around? If I create a new post, to say include on this page?

Or if I assign a specific category to a post, the posts appear on that page? For example, I created a new post assigned the category template to it, this only appears on the template page?

    Thanks!

    that’s what the plugin does

I agree Samuel, but not from scratch? Select an option at creating a new post, to publish it only on the one selected ‘static’ page?

It is possible to have multiple posts pages by using custom posts types search for a plugin there are few one of them is Custom Post Type UI and you create a post type once created you will have another label like posts and pages when you want to post on that label you click it and post normaly.

You will have use custom menu to add the label in menu.

Alright let me put it in an other way… If i create a post, how can i organise them better? Because I don’t want to have them all on the front page. As you look at my layout, you can probably see what I mean. http://hardcore.sandernijssen.com If i create a post i want them to be in a category, (as i mentioned a couple of posts ago pages) But when pages are static and not dynamic, i’m looking for a easy way for the navigation to be still there, but with dynamic content.

Hopefully it makes a little bit of a sense.

Click on my name you will that in recent posts I have category as child and posts as grandchild if that is the way you want to display then you will need to use custom menu and add them to menu as you want manually by just dragging in positions.

How can I replace the Welcome message on front page of Blog right under Header?
