• Hi, I’m trying to find a plug-in or some way to post an entry to a page based on the category I select for the post. So if the post is categorized as “NFL” I’d like a summary of the article to show up on home blog page, but then I’d also like it go to the Page “NFL”. I have a plugin right now that is supposed to do this, but it doesn’t work. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (By the way, I know nothing about HTML or CSS)

    Thanks,
    Mike

  • A link of what you are doing would be great and the name of the plugin you have would also be useful.

I’m trying to use the plugins “Category Page” and “List Category Posts”. The website I’m trying to use this on is http://hamsports.com. You can see there the most recent post is categorized as “swenny” and there is a spearate page for “swenny” that I’d like it posted to as well.

    Thanks,
    Mike

first you have to find the category id. You can do this by hovering of the category within the wordpress admin panel.

Then you will need to place this shortcode on the page that you want to post to display

[catlist id=put your category id here]

Here is some usage notes for the list category post plugin

    Perfect! Thanks for your help!

One last question. Do you is there a plugin that will allow you to make a post, but only show a summary of the post?

    Thanks again

look up the term “get excerpt” that should point you in the right direction. Without knowing exactly what post and where, it is kinda hard for me to tell you that answer.

    Good luck.
