I am a high school teacher and I am going to have my high school students respond to some Internet Safety videos. I have a blog set up with users having to log in. I went in as a user and I see the name of the blog and my directions to the students. When I click on "comment" nothing happens. The box where the users write their comments does not appear. I've gone through my administrator settings and searched through the forum, but can't seem to find a response to this issue. Thanks for your help.

Check through your theme files for references to <?php comments_popup_link();?>. If you can't find it, then it needs to be added to index.php at least.
Does your theme contain a comments.php file?
Have you enabled commenting via Admin/Setting/Discussion?
Have you tried switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

Thank you so much for getting back to me so quickly. I had company show up at my door and I am just now able to get back to work.

I'm really new at this and really don't know what you mean by theme. I went to my adminstrator page and went to presentation, theme. There are two tabs theme and widgets. Nothing really there is helping me. Can I give you the url and see if you can take a look.

I created two subdomains from my website. I put the blog on both pages. The first one is working fine. Here is the link.

You probably can't see the comments because it is set up that a user needs to log in. However, you might see something in the url that would cause the second one not to work. Below is the other blog that doesn't work. The students would type cmwblog2@cuttingedgeeagles.org. That brings them to my subdomain. Then when I click on 'comment', the url changes to what you see below.

    http://cmwblog2.cuttingedgeeagles.org/2009/08/23/netsmartz-response/#respond.

Any ideas? I really appreciate your help.

I went to view source on both blogs and the only thing different is that blog 2 (the one not working) has the words netsmartz-response in the url and one other place in the code. I was going to try to delete that from the code, but have no idea how to do that.

I'm trying to do something cool with my classes, but I need this working tomorrow. I'm really bummed out that I have spent the whole weekend trying to get this to work and it still doesn't work.

If anyone is reading earlier posts, could you please take a look my question.

    Thanks,
    Stacy
