• ‘High’ and howdy, WordPressers,
Yet another emigre’ in exodus from Movable Type and their bloody ex post facto licensing nonsense which now forbids by blogs’ other author from participating unless we pony up money we don’t have – and this is the FOURTH time I’m having to change blogging systems, so I want to find a GOOD one that I can STICK with since I run two blogs and dun’ wanna hafta go through this EVER again…
Talked to my host’s sysadmin, who is exceptionally cool and helpful, but tells me we don’t have MySQL which seems to be de facto necessitated by all the more complex bloggistry managers. I have pored through a gigazillion sites and keep seeing Requirements: blah blah and MySQL. He tells me PostgresQL is not the same thing and that I probably won’t be able to substitute it, but figured I’d ask here anyhow because I am bloody desperate, hair-tearingly so, and if there’s a chance in Hell of interchangeability of databases (using one instead of the other, such as the one we have instead of the one we DON’T) I want to know it, and then find out how it’s done.
    In desperation,
    Psychaotic
